Shutting down MUVE ME

Now that RezEd.org is online, there's not much need for this network. I will be shutting this site down soon and recommend that everyone moves over to http://www.rezed.org

Hello Everyone

Looks like we got a few of us set up today. I've been exploring the new blogs that have already come to my attention today from your profiles. If nothing else, this will be a great way to explore what all of us are doing and thinking with our projects. I am anxious to see who else signs up and links in their blogs and pages. This will be a great way to fill in some of the backgrounds of all of us SLEDers. I am sure some of us will find new partners to work with in our projects too. Well, I ha…

Why?

I finally broke down and started a Ning page. I need a place where I can put stuff related to virtual world technologies that is not related to my main project, Pacific Rim Exchange (PacRimX). I looked at FaceBook, can't stand MySpace, and have yet to find any other social platforms that appeal to me. This service was brought to my attention yesterday, I checked it out, and have decided to use it.

Hi Stan, Thanks for the kind words. I'll pass them along to the folks at Ohio University :-).

I am at Ohio State University which is quite a bit larger in RL but unfortunately, quite a bit smaller in SL than OU. We are just getting going here at OSU but we have grand plans for the University in general and the Medical School (my involvement) in particular. Hope to see you in world someday. Take Care, Doug

Thank you for the compliments, and nice to 'meet' you.
As far as Ning goes, I do not know. It does seem that this one - opposed to myspace and such - is more about the content you put then just about 'get as many friends as possible'. I hope I perceive this right. =d

Hi Stan! I'm a SLED lurker rather than a SLED poster usually, but as manager of an educational technology island I do like to keep informed about what's happening in Sleducation. ^_^

Hey Stan, Ning is amazing, you will love it, I am trying to find a way to build it into my curriculum, possibly as a support/companion site to our TSL project. Something like Schome has done with their forum and wiki, just with more ... ooomph. :) I see Westley has commented too, I'm trying to get my head around some sort of after-school club/collaboration, more later! Hope to meet you at one of these SL gatherings and thanks for linking to me! :) -kj-

Hi Stan,

Yes good choice, I am struggling with Facebook as we speak but am in several Nings and they seem fine. Best of Luck with it.
